Your tasks
- You ensure smooth, safe and on-time operations in the cutting department and guarantee compliance with the defined quality standards
- You lead, motivate and develop the shift supervisors and staff in the cutting department, and foster a high-performing and team-oriented working culture
- You manage your area of responsibility using relevant key performance indicators relating to productivity, quality, scrap rates and on-time delivery, and derive appropriate measures from these
- You plan and coordinate the efficient deployment of staff, machine capacity and materials to ensure optimal utilisation of the cutting shop
- You successfully implement operational targets, improvement initiatives and strategic measures in day-to-day operations and act as the link between management and operational production
- You identify potential for optimisation in the cutting and material flow processes and drive continuous improvements to increase productivity, quality and cost-effectiveness
- You ensure compliance with work instructions, safety regulations and quality and process standards, and guarantee stable and sustainable operations
- You work closely with the Goods Receipt, Dispatch, Control Centre and Quality departments to ensure a demand-driven supply of materials and a smooth production process
Your profile
- Several years’ experience in logistics (5 years, including 3 years in a managerial role), ideally in cable processing, manufacturing or cutting-to-length operations, as well as several years’ managerial experience in an operational role
- Strong leadership skills, acting as a role model in terms of trust, respect and commitment, as well as the ability to motivate and develop staff in a targeted manner
- In-depth knowledge of cutting shop processes, as well as a good understanding of upstream and downstream value-added and material flows
- A clear focus on objectives and results, with confidence in managing key performance indicators and a structured and analytical approach to work
- Strong decision-making skills and assertiveness, as well as the ability to successfully implement changes and drive continuous improvement measures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster an open culture of feedback and learning, as well as actively supporting the ONE LAPP values in day-to-day interactions
